Restoration of the Noble Rooms of Palácio da Condessa do Rio (Lisbon)

CRERE, was responsible for the restoration of escaiolas and artistic plaster and stucco at the Palace of the Condessa do Rio in Lisbon. The work was conducted in 2007.

Located in the heart of Lisbon, near Bairro Alto and the Church of St. Catarina dos Paulistas, o Palácio da Condessa do Rio is prior to 1755. Decorated with magnificent works of art in stucco, the walls are still covered with plaster scagliolla or marmorinno technique.

The conservation of the palace reflected a deterioration associated with lack of maintenance. Faced with a huge picture of structural weaknesses CRERE was the responsible in the implementation of procedures to allow the original physical integrity, properly supported in existing historical records.
