Restoration of the monument to Júlio Dinis

CRERE restored the monument dedicated to Júlio Dinis between May and July 2012.

Júlio Dinis, pseudonym used by writer Joaquim Guilherme Gomes Coelho (1839 - 1871), left us some novels marked by its bucolic style, full of love for life and nature, The monument consists of a bust in bronze, designed by João da Silva (1880 – 1960), which rests on a granite plinth. The set is completed with elegant feminine figure that pays tribute through deposition wreath of flowers at the bust of the poet. The result set of a tribute at the Faculty of Medicine of Oporto and offer the monument to the Oporto City Council. It was inaugurated on the first of June 1 ( 1926).

The restoration was achieved by CRERE, who responded to the need for urgent action, in view of the conservation, restoration and maintenance of the Monument and help to preserve this fundamental work of public art.
